This compact presentation of essential mathematics is geared toward undergraduate students in the physical sciences and related fields. Prerequisites include some background in analytical geometry, simple differentiation and integration, and the uses of the sine, cosine, exponential, and logarithmic functions. The treatment incorporates a few more difficult topics, such as group theory and integral equations, in the hope of stimulating interest in these areas. Undergraduates in engineering, physics, chemistry, and operations research will find this book a useful review of the mathematical methods that they will be using throughout their education and beyond. The text features numerous worked examples, and a selection of unworked problems appears at the end of each chapter.
