Do you ever wonder what really happened happened to JFK?
Let's go back in time.
It's 1963 and the world is on the verge of a breakthrough. President John Kennedy wants to end the Cold War and usher in an era of world peace: "The kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living."
But not so fast. The CIA thinks they're running the show. Even though CIA director Allen Dulles has recently been fired by JFK, it doesn't seem to matter. Allen Dulles still has powerful friends and hates JFK with an all-consuming passion.
Not so fast once again. The mafia thinks they're running the show. Mafia bosses are making deals with CIA officers to assassinate Fidel Castro. When JFK's administration initiates a crusade to put those mafia bosses in prison, getting rid of Kennedy becomes their first priority.
Sill not so fast. FBI director J. Edgar Hoover thinks he's running the show. Hoover may be a living legend, but he knows JFK is about to force him into retirement. The thought of not running the FBI is intolerable to Hoover.
Not just yet. The Secret Service kind of is running the show. They're the only agency in government that has authority over the president. More than few Secret Service agents consider JFK's policies a threat to national security.
However, JFK's biggest threat to world peace may come from his own vice president, Lyndon Johnson, who knows he's not running anything, but would like to be. Johnson's trail of corrupt schemes are becoming exposed. He has to act fast or he'll end up out of office and probably in prison.
From the back cover:
Every once in a while there comes along a novel powerful enough to change the way its readers think and view the world. This is such a novel.
Lyndon Johnson, in his own wry, satirical style, pieces together the puzzle: exactly how and why he and a band of rogue CIA agents, with mafia help, Secret Service assistance and J. Edgar Hoover's blessing, all conspired to pull off the murder of the century, which naturally begs the question: where does Lee Harvey Oswald fit into any of this?
Not only did they have the power to do it and get away with it, but then they did it again, and again and again and again and again...
In doing so they will forever alter the fate of the United States of America.
