Long Ride To Laramie (Book 5) is the continuing story of the life and times of Amos Moss and a study in how accidental timing and unplanned events often shape lives. Amos left the war torn south as a boy and headed west with the railroad. When he got to southeast Wyoming he took a job in a stable. Over the next half century he would deal with outlaws, rustlers and horse thieves as well as graft and corruption. He would witness the rise and fall of the cattle barons. He would accidentally become a range detective and then a lawman. He would make lifetime friends and find the love of his life. Like most people he would win some and lose some. The main character and his friends are fictional, however, many of the stories are real and historical events as seen through Amos's eyes and the eyes of his friends. The author, a Wyomingite himself, was privileged to know many old time Wyomingites and many of their stories have been incorporated in the books. A great deal of emphasis has been placed on realism, geographical accuracy and the extremes in weather so common in Wyoming. Each book is part of a series and written much like the old dime novels. They are an easy read that always leaves the reader wondering what will happen next.
