living words: a student publication
is a book made up of poems, short stories, and other literary pieces, all written by students at Kihei Charter School. Each senior at KCS is required to do a senior project. This project can be anything they choose, as long as it is something they are passionate about and will impact their community in some way.
For her senior project, Hazel Bello wanted to do a project that showcased the creative and literary talents of her fellow students at KCS. So, she contacted every student with a talent for writing and asked for a few samples of their best work, and compiled these pieces into a book. She also wrote a few of pieces of her own, to be featured alongside the work of her fellow students. Finally, she decided to name the book
living words
, in honor of the way that words have an ability to bring ideas and thoughts to life.
Any and all profits generated by this book will be donated to the English and humanities classes at Kihei Charter, in hopes of helping to develop the next generation of young writers. Thank you for supporting this effort to continue to promote creativity and a love for literature in the next generation.
