It is with great satisfaction that I share with you the fruit of a four-year research project at one of Brazil's most renowned laboratories, the São Paulo Institute of Tropical Medicine, which specializes in tropical diseases and actively contributes to both the training of highly specialized professionals and the production of basic and applied scientific knowledge. This work addresses the basic foundations of molecular biology applied to understanding the molecular mechanisms developed by the protozoan that causes cutaneous leishmaniasis.
