If you think it would be glamorous to be the Prince of Thieves, you have never met Lat, the current Prince of Thieves in Trilaria. His father, the King of Thieves, has already killed those of his predecessors that managed to survive the vigorous training required to be a guilded thief but were ultimately found undesirable, which is how Lat received his title. At twenty-one, Lat is the oldest surviving Prince of Thieves and has now been given a task by his father the king: Steal the dragon guarded Book of Shadows written by a mage gone thief who managed to add simple magic to the art of thievery. The book that is every thief’s dream and has taken countless lives. Of course the king would choose Lat to go fetch it for him.
