It is a comparative analysis of two emblematic experiences in the process of implementing this type of training within the Brazilian academic universe, namely, the degree courses at UNIJUÍ and the Faculty of Education at the Federal University of Goiás, which were the initial and final milestones in the first decade of developing a degree course with this particular focus. Its objective is to reflect on how the MST has guided its struggle in defense of rural worker education over the last two decades of the 20th century. In this way, it is possible to gather fundamental elements for a better understanding of the significance of this struggle for the working class, especially with regard to the issue of the right to a conception of education endowed with a sense of universality.
