In her series, Waking up from the American Dream, Michele Maingot Cabral chronicles her off-grid experience. Once she and her husband Mike walked away from the commercial trappings of the American Dream, built their own house off-grid in the woods of Maine, and then made it home, all they had left to do was to keep it real. Book 3 explores her adjustments to working full time as a teacher again and still maintaining a foraging, homesteading, off-grid lifestyle. Keeping it Real is about a small town, the people in it, and their relationships to each other and nature.
