Katherine Louisa Ryan, born on June 30, 1983, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, is a multi-talented comedian, writer, actress, presenter, and singer. Her father, Finbar, a draughtsman and owner of an engineering company, originally emigrated from Ireland to Canada, while her mother, Julie McCarthy, owns an IT consulting company. Katherine and her two younger sisters were raised in Sarnia, where she developed an early passion for performance, even participating as one of the dancers in MuchMusic's Electric Circus program.Despite her parents' separation during her teenage years, Katherine persevered and decided to venture into city planning, studying at Toronto Metropolitan University. During her university years, she worked at Hooters and performed at open mic nights, honing the comedic skills that would later define her career.
