These are only a few of the many words used to define love. But when describing love, these words are not used alone. In many dictionaries, the definition of love is often accompanied by the word "intense".
Love is a lot of things, and the true form of it is always intense.
Love is an emotion, and like all emotions, it needs to be expressed. Its intensity does not allow it to be suppressed.
Love demands to be felt, spoken of, and acted on.
In spite of the extensiveness of these definitions, love in reality has never been restricted by definitions. Every individual defines love for themselves based on who they are; and who they are, in turn, is a product of many other factors. These factors include where they are from, how they were loved in childhood and which people showed them love. There are other significant factors like what they perceive love to be, how much success they have had at love and even who they fall in love with.
Where people come from defines love for them the most. People who belong to different cultures, social classes, family structures, generations and religions think of love differently. Also, depending on age groups or education levels, people think of love differently.
People's perception of love also evolves from their family and nation's history, especially that which involves factors like displacement, immigration, and transgenerational trauma.
