The beneficial effects of homeopathy on livestock have been reported very frequently. One example is the use of homeopathy as an epidemic and medicinal agent in outbreaks of cowpox caused by Vaccinia virus, with the aim of restoring the health and milk production of sick animals, as well as its prophylaxis. With the growing demand for organic food production, homeopathic medicines have become important for the livestock sector, because they do not produce chemical and toxic residues in the treated animals and, consequently, in food of animal origin.
