Betsy Titus stumbles across a dead body in one of the cabins in the woods she is supposed to be guarding. She is so shaken that someone died on her watch that she almost shoots Owen Wilkinson, one of her clients, less than 24 hours later. The identity of the victim becomes an obsession with Betsy, so much so that she will travel to the East Coast and overseas to find his next of kin.
