A HAIKU IS INSTANT POETRY. IT REFLECTS AN OBSERVATION OF THE MOMENT, ORIGINALLY SPECIFICALLY RELATING TO NATURE OR THINGS NATURAL, BUT IN MODERN TIMES THEMES HAVE BEEN RELAXED SO TOPICS CAN ALSO RELATE TO EMOTIONS, THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. EACH POEM IS SHORT, 17 SYLLABLES, AND CAPTURES A MOMENT IN TIME. OVER MANY YEARS OF CARING FOR PATIENTS I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF A VARIETY OF EMOTIONS, RANGING FROM HAPPY TO SAD, WHICH I HAVE TRIED TO CAPTURE IN THIS BOOK. I HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY IT.
