This laser-cut balsa wood model kit recreates the Nieuport 11 "Bébé," the fast and maneuverable French fighter plane that carried the Lafayette Escadrille into combat starting April 20, 1916. Designed at 1:14 scale, the kit includes precision laser-cut balsa parts, plastic wheels, vacuum-formed plastic components, and a full decal set needed to build an accurate WWI replica. The finished model measures 17.25 inches long, 1.75 inches wide, and 6.5 inches tall with a 24-inch wingspan. Built for ages 14 and up, this kit works both as a detailed display model and as a functional flying plane thanks to its lightweight balsa construction.
Laser-cut balsa wood parts offer precision assembly compared to traditional hand-cut kits
Display it on a shelf or actually fly it, a rare crossover between scale realism and working flight capability
Recreates the racing-plane-turned-fighter known for speed and agility during the 1914-1918 era
Building supplies like wood glue, T-pins, and decal setting solution sold separately
