The textbook Functional and Clinical Anatomy of the Small and Large Intestines was written on the basis of Order No. 647 of the Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 31 July 2015, developed in accordance with 'On the Approval of State Mandatory Standards and Model Professional Training Programmes for Medical and Pharmaceutical Specialities.' According to the new standard, core subjects at medical universities are taught using a modular integrated programme. The aim of the integrated programme is to combine the teaching of structural, functional, topographical and age-related features associated with the function and development of organs with the basic knowledge acquired in clinical disciplines and the development of practical skills. The textbook is intended for medical university students, interns, coloproctologists, master's students, residents and doctoral students.
