On the promotion tour for his newly published book
Inside the Space Ships
in 1955, George Adamski gave several talks, press conferences and media interviews.
The three talks compiled in this volume were held in Detroit, MI on consecutive days in September, where he also called on the religious leaders of his time to educate their followers about the reality of extraterrestrial visitors based on their Biblical doctrine. Once the public were properly informed, he reasoned, and with the churches acknowledging the ET presence, the governments would no longer be able to deny or hide the facts about the UFOs.
In his introduction researcher Gerard Aartsen uncovers the main motif in Adamski's talks and efforts - to educate his audience about the momentous significance of this time in human history. In the process he details how it is likely that Adamski was present when president Eisenhower met with visitors from space in February 1954, and how he hoped to put public pressure on the governments by enlisting the support of the churches.
This shows that George Adamski was not only the first UFO contactee to come forward with his experiences, but he was also the first UFO disclosure activist.
