For L.A. attorney and pet-sitter Kendra Ballantyne, Esq., murder always seems to strike at the worst possible moment. In this charming cozy mystery filled with pets, suspects, and scandal, the battle between pet lovers and pet haters is anything but cute and cuddly. While visiting her friend and fellow pet-sitter Wanda, Kendra accidentally sparks a heated dispute over a condo building’s animal policy. One week later, anti-pet board member Margaret Shiler is found dead in Wanda’s apartment. The only witness is Lady Cuddles, an escape-artist cat with a habit of sneaking into trouble. Margaret had no shortage of enemies, including an ex-husband and a disgruntled contractor, but the police have Wanda firmly in their sights. Determined to clear her friend’s name, Kendra begins investigating the murder herself, following clues through a tangled web of condo politics, neighborhood feuds, and long-buried grudges. But Kendra’s handsome beau, pet supply magnate Dante DeFrancisco, wants her out of danger—and maybe ready to trade amateur sleuthing for a more settled life together. Perfect for fans of cozy cat mysteries, female amateur sleuths, and pet-themed whodunits, this witty mystery delivers murder, humor, romance, and plenty of furry mischief as Kendra races to uncover the real killer before her friend becomes the next victim.
