The discoverer of artificial gravity and an interstellar space drive, Daniel Karpinen, explores the nearby stars in Eyes of a Cat. His feline friends continue to help him in his explorations. In this story, he makes first contact with a race of beings on another planet who are both similar to ourselves and completely different. He unfortunately encounters this race when they are on the verge of an interplanetary civil war. To survive he will have to delve deep into the lessons that he has learned -- from ancient myths his grandmother told to the modern politics he learned in order to build his spaceship.Eyes of a Cat is a fitting second chapter to the bestselling Eyes of an Eagle by S.A. Gorden. The cutting edge science is plausible and the storytelling harkens back to the classic space operas from the Golden Age of Science Fiction.
