Eye of the Beholder is a scrapbook style coffee table book. It is a compilation of my personal photos of my travels and road trips around the United States. This particular type of road trip travel that was popular in times past, isn't all that popular anymore. Everyone wants to fly these days because it's faster and cheaper, but old Route 66 is still a calling.
The photos in the book are destinations I stumbled upon accidentally, passed when on a genealogy hunt, off the beaten path, and many are largely unheard of destinations that are quiet, peaceful, and beautiful
Additionally, most are free of admission fees, and many have historic and archeological significance. I love archeology and as much as I would love to see some of the more glamorous and famous archeology sites off this continent, I remember that the soil under my feet is as old as any soil in Egypt or anywhere else. We have history here too.
included famous quotes and other classical poetry in moderation throughout, as well as informative facts about some of the photos and locations. I am a rookie photographer and my poetry is amateurish, but still, my hope is that thumbing through the book will have a peaceful and meditative effect on the reader and their soul.
Some say it's all about the journey, I say it's about the destination; but I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder.
