Namok is my mother’s name, and her food is my favorite. Growing up, I was lucky to eat delicious home-cooked meals from her and her food set the standard of taste for me. Her cooking did not always follow the traditional way, but she created her Namok cooking. When I left South Korea and began living alone in a foreign country, I started cooking the dishes I missed. I tried to recall the food my mother had made for me and re-created the meal in my way.
