The majority of pre-school children will, at some time in the first five years of life experience some problems with eating. For example, they may only eat a small number of different foods, eat very little or refuse to eat altogether. For most of these children, this is a passing phase, which they will grow out of. However, for some, the eating problem is more severe, may be longer lasting and cause high anxiety for parents and carers.
