In the 1880s, Nature sends a drought across the Kansas plains. Rivers, streams, and water holes dry up, and cattle die by the thousands.
While on the drift, Clay Jared meets freewheeling Virgil McClain. They sign on with the small Diamond D spread only to find it is being crushed by the big Circle J, which is owned by hostile rancher Bill Jorth. Jorth has fenced in the only available water in the area.
Can Jared and McClain save the Diamond D from being destroyed by Jorth's band of killers? Owner Fran Darnell and her beautiful, headstrong daughter, Kim, hope so.
