For him, the human being is inherently religious and experiences God in his soul. Consequently, the essence of Christianity lies in the experience in which the believer is overwhelmed by unconscious forces. Therefore, religious experience is an experience of archetypes of the collective unconsciousness, which means that God and the unconscious in the religious experience cannot be distinguished.
