As background - no need to read the first Bellwether, as the Preface will bring you up to speed. But Bellwether Bob was an orphan from Nome, Alaska who made his living as a comedian and by panning for gold on the Nome beaches. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska - where this volume picks up.
His Nephew Albert said it best when he described his uncle's comic routine, [and demeanor in general] as a combination of "that real old guy, Bob Newhart and that guy on the Red Green Show [Steve Smith]."
