Megan agrees to her nephew Ian's request for a crochet chess set. After all, she'll be retiring in a week and she can put it on her schedule easily. Then Ian is injured in a hit and run. She works at her crochet while at the hospital. A valet notices the pieces and realizes they would be the perfect cover for the spoils of an old jewel heist. While Megan is crocheting, Ian is healing, and the valet is arranging a sale of his gems, a homeless couple is looking for a home and the gang that struck Ian is out there, on the loose and planning how to stay free. But Megan's cats just want to be happy, spoiled and loved. Who will get what they want and who will fail?
