The terms domótica, inmótica, intelligent buildings and similars, are used increasingly for the applications of the new technologies of the information and the communications in the home. Although we are still far from the extensive implementation of these techniques in domestic environments, the media often show public buildings that incorporate, in addition to the usual automations of stairs and elevators, concepts such as comfort management, the rational use of energy and the integration of data and communications networks. This book presents a practical and current vision of these concepts, and its content and writing are oriented to be used as an informative book, or as a text for engineering students or training cycles.In this third edition the contents of several chapters have been updated and a new one has been added on the certification of home automation systems.
