Reading Women
, for which the artist photographed and filmed 100 individual female artists, curators, writers and musicians in their homes and studios as they each read a book of their choosing by a woman author. The project resulted in 100 intimate portraits and a four-hour film.
Published in conjunction with Schneider’s first comprehensive survey exhibition, this volume--the artist’s first monograph--includes essays by Julie Rodrigues Widholm and Joanna Szupinska-Myers, and an interview with the artist conducted by exhibition curator Kendra Paitz.
