A simple class project of making name tags leads Bucket to wonder if people really know them beyond their kinda silly nickname. Others in the friend group share similar feelings—are they able to show their full identity, or just the parts that feel comfortable? When the nametag project evolves to include bringing something to school that represents your true self, Bucket writes a story that perfectly expresses their feelings about identity . . . but what name to put on it? With the help of friends and a cool new student teacher, Bucket embraces a name uniquely their own. Bucket and Friends Save (Part of) the World with a Name by author and educator Tom Rademacher gets at the heart of what’s on kids’ minds with kindness, humor, and insight. Each book in the Bucket and Friends series shows how activism big or small can enable young people to thrive and affect positive change for themselves and others. An included discussion guide offers further suggestions for ways kids can seek and provide help navigating their world.
