Brock Purdy became the ultimate underdog story in 2022, selected with the final pick of the NFL Draft, No. 262 overall, earning him the title of "Mr. Irrelevant." Just months later, injuries thrust Purdy into the starting role, and he responded by winning all five of his regular-season starts, becoming the only quarterback to beat Tom Brady in his first career start and leading San Francisco to an NFC Championship appearance. He continued to defy expectations in 2023, setting the 49ers' single-season passing yards record and guiding the team to Super Bowl LVIII. This Riddell Speed Authentic helmet, styled after the 49ers' 2022 look, is hand-signed by Purdy and features a "Mr. Irrelevant" inscription commemorating one of the most improbable rises in NFL Draft history.
