Twenty-two year old Ellie has finally worked up the courage to leave her homophobic family and escape to the Big Apple, but Brooklyn rent doesn't come cheap. When she meets beautiful freelance illustrator Steph, she seems like the answer to her prayers - at least, so long as she can keep the work coming in, and keep her past from coming to snatch her back out of the city.
But while the chemistry is there, the circumstances aren't in Ellie's favor. Not only is Steph reluctant to date a girl with such prominent 'issues', but an impromptu visit from her sister means she's going to have to remember how to hide all the things she's been able to embrace - and in doing so, push Steph even further away.
