"Angel Food Cake" (AFC), A Forty Day Devotional for an Upside/Down World is a Lenten style devotional with a fasting (Eschewal) component included. Structured so it can overlay the Lenten calendar, it may be utilized as a Lenten Devotional. But why pigeonhole your 40 day fasting efforts into Lent only, when you can use this beneficial spiritual practice now or during other seasons of the year?In our upside/down world, we often need to come to our senses. AFC helps us do that by connecting each daily scripture and devotion to one of our 5 physical senses.The 6th and full final week (Holy Week during Lent) is themed for insight or that of the Holy Spirit. Each week is concluded with reflective questions to stimulate discussion in a small group.Pilgrim readers may notice along the way mention of angels, whether it in Bible scripture or in the author's personal experience.
