After the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack, the U.S. government began forcibly relocating all West Coast individuals with Japanese ancestry to ten inland sites. The majority of incarcerees at Hunt, Idaho's Minidoka War Relocation Center were American citizens from Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, and surrounding regions.
