Portraits and words from, with, and alongside addiction--.
My sons suffered dark and relentless drink and drug addictions. When they felt all hope was gone, they left this world a year apart to escape the pain.
They were 27 and 29.
I have painted portraits of those in addiction, out of addiction, those caught up in the crazy, lonely, frightening world living with an addict, and those working with addicts to try and help. Onto each portrait I have painted the words, the story, of the sitter. I am shining a light on addiction.
And still we love.
