The book is poetic, cultural, and has a journal section for the reader to add their beautiful moments and memories with their loved ones. Aanaq? (Mom in Yup'ik)? Am I Your Sunset? was inspired by an evening I decided to take my son and I on a drive. During our drive, the most captivating sunset caught my attention. I told my son how beautiful I thought the sunset was, and he asked, "Am I your sunset?" I lost my breath for a moment at how sweet that was, then smiled and replied, "Yes, Biggie - you are my sunset, my sunrise, my moon, and my stars." Later, I felt so touched that I shared the moment on Facebook, ending my post with, "How lucky am I? To have someone who wants to be my sunset."
