In Victorian England, Dr. David Hughes leaves England to save face and the family honor. His travels leads him to a small unnamed island. Thanks to his wealth and name he is made governor of the island. His skill as a healer endears him to the locals. David has everything he needs except female companionship. This all chances where a pretty missionary arrives. Chasity rebuffs his advances but the good doctor won't take no for answer.
