Ed and Sylvie, owners of the Pine Valley Motel, have been struggling. Business is down, the motel has seen better days, and they're torn about what to do.
Lindsay, their daughter, is looking for a break from the craziness that is her life. She and her kids have become disconnected, bouncing from one responsibility to another, and spending more quality time with their phones than with each other. In an attempt to slow down and reconnect, Lindsay decides to spend the summer in Pine Valley.
While Lindsay is trying to help both her parents and her kids, local police officer Jake is working on solving a petty crime spree and finding ways to keep them from happening in the future, all while trying to figure out his own life, too.
In a small town like Pine Valley, lives are bound to intertwine. But will the resulting connections be positive or pose additional challenges?
