A novel of psychological suspense, A Memory of Murder is the first book in the Audrey Lake Investigations series. Audrey Lake has moved to Astoria, Oregon, after her career as an undercover cop in Denver has gone down the drain. Piece by piece, she's trying to rebuild her life and come to grips with the traumatic memories of her last assignment. But now she is plagued by recurring visions of a woman being attacked and forcibly drowned. She's terrified that she's losing her mind, until the same woman who appeared in her vision is found floating in the Columbia River.Audrey struggles to maintain her sanity as her own investigation collides with that of the local law enforcement. With only her own experience and determination to rely on, and no access to the usual resources of the police, she digs into the life and secrets of the victim. But in doing so, she is forced to face her own disintegrating psyche and understand the visions, even as she pursues a ruthless and clever killer. Are they hallucinations, psychosis, or a memory of murder?
