Crackle lacquer is a lacquer for the special crackle effect to create a faux-vintage or used look. Objects to be painted with the Crackle Effect require a base coat of primer first then paint with the selected base color to show through the Crackle Effect. Let the base color dry at least 45 minutes but no more than 24 hours before applying Crackle Effect from a distance of six inches from the surface. After extensively and evenly applying Crackle Effect to your primed and painted surface, the distressing (cracking) process will begin to occur. For finest crackling results, apply to a completely dry base coat.
