Smaller sizes are best for beginners, but this also makes a great gift or new hobby for anyone over 8! How does it work? The canvas holds the corresponding number or symbol for each diamond color provided in the kit. The diamond artist peels back a portion of the plastic wrap on top of the canvas to allow for diamond placement. The placement pen is dipped into wax to help it stick to the diamonds (this is done only when the diamonds stop sticking to the pen). The diamonds are poured into the holder tray, picked up with the placement pen, and placed onto the uncovered area of the canvas. The adhesive on the canvas holds the diamond, releasing it from the pen. The corresponding number on the canvas is covered when the diamond is placed, showing only the sparkling color on top.
